Guinness record for reading aloud in multiple languages

9 February 2023

In 2012, Foyer vzw launched a pilot project intercultural process counselling in the Dutch-speaking libraries of Brussels. The multilingual reading sessions were created. The same story is read in two languages by native speakers and the children then playfully work with the story and the languages used.

The reading sessions proved to be an instant hit with a large turnout of both children and parents and positive reactions from partners. On Sunday 26 February, Foyer and Bib Sophia will attempt to improve the world record for multilingual reading aloud and will read aloud in 70 languages.
