Why vote for Mobile @ Green MMM?

Johan Leman, 9 February 2022

Mobile @ Green MMM is an initiative of MigratieMuseumMigration. From the very beginning, the focus was on sustainability: rainwater collection (used up to toilet level), solar panels, underfloor heating, no plastic, you name it… everything as sustainable as possible. During the pandemic, the garden was kept open constantly. The Migration Museum itself remained open as soon as and for as long as it was allowed, and according to the rules. Additional initiatives were taken: museum @home, mobile museum, … The aim is always and remains: to be an interactive museum, also accessible to people who have no museum-visiting tradition. And that works out quite well.

Why should this be given any recognition at all? You should know that the Brussels Region has not intervened in any of these sustainability initiatives, nor has it given even the slightest support, let alone a single file to be admissible, for example to have an employee promised to keep the museum open. This at a time when the Brussels Region has been talking for decades about the importance of a migration museum and has made enormous sums available to prestigious museums.

The Migration Museum is now asking for your support by voting for the Green @ Mobile MMM project and thus demonstrating to the Region that people are more sympathetic to this initiative than the Region appears to think.

Therefore: vote for Mobile @ Green MMM. And thank you in advance! February 21 is the deadline. https://www.foyer.be/news/mobilegreen-mmm/?lang=en
