Visit Rob Beenders (federal minister for equal opportunities)

5 May 2026

Today, exactly one year after the hooligan violence following the cup final, Federal Minister for Equal Opportunities Rob Beenders visited Foyer to speak with young people from the collective “Je suis la Belgique / Ik ben België”. In September 2025, these young people organised a march from Molenbeek to Bruges as a symbol of solidarity. Brussels MP Ilyas Mouani was also present; he is actively committed to inclusion, equal opportunities and giving young people a voice in the city.

During the round-table discussion, the young people and the minister had an open conversation about racism. The young people shared their experiences and concerns, and engaged in dialogue with the minister about possible solutions and the importance of equal opportunities.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the MigrationMuseumMigration. Foyer is proud to be a place where such encounters can take place!
