Mothers come together through collective embroidery in Koekelberg

10 June 2026

On 9 and 10 June, Dar Al Amal organised two collective embroidery workshops for mothers from the Swartenbroeks and Oscar Bossaert schools in Koekelberg. The workshops were held at the request of the Equal Opportunities Service of the Municipality of Koekelberg and formed part of the breakfast gatherings organised by the schools for parents.

During the workshops, participants worked together on a large collective embroidery piece while learning a number of simple embroidery stitches and techniques. The activity offered a warm and welcoming space for creativity, exchange and connection.

Led by two facilitators from Dar Al Amal, the workshops were very well received and enjoyed great success among the participating mothers.
