An iconic Foyer wheel gets a second life

For more than 50 years, a very special piece of play equipment has been part of Foyer’s courtyard: the large wheel that has been enjoyed by several generations of children and young people over the years.
Some objects become so much a part of a place that they eventually become a symbol of it. For many, the wheel represents more than just a piece of play equipment. It is part of their memories of Foyer and of everyday life in the courtyard.
After more than five decades, the wheel has recently undergone a thorough renovation. The wooden planks have been replaced and the entire structure has received a fresh coat of paint. The wheel has been given a new lease of life, while preserving its place in Foyer’s history.
For those who came to Foyer in the past, the old wooden wheel may bring back special memories. Over the years, it was the setting for countless moments of play, building a history of its own along the way.
With its renovation, that history can continue. The renewed wheel can once again be discovered, used and enjoyed by young people today and by generations to come.
