The theme of Poetry Week 2025, ‘corporality’, is about a world of sensory experiences, where words shape a tangible reality. It’s also about feeling at home in our bodies, the search for identity and the fluidity of our physical and inner worlds. A number of colleagues are happy to share their favourite poems for Poetry Week. ![]()
The translations of the poems are literal, so the poetic power may have been lost.
🌼 We conclude the week with a poem by Derya. Derya is a Turkish intercultural mediator, ensuring the most accessible healthcare for all. She is also an English and Spanish teacher and loves exploring other cultures and places.
☀️ Yamina works at Dar Al Amal, the emancipation centre at Foyer for all the women. She takes part in the writing workshop run by Françoise: ‘It’s a workshop that encourages us to reflect on ourselves, to face our fears, to accept our faults and to go beyond our limits’.
Hilde is coordinator of PIM (Partners in Multilingualism) and works around multilingual education and teaching. She is fascinated by languages (development) and in 2020 she released her own collection of stories « Dagen Zonder Woorden ».
Ann is coordinator of the intercultural mediation service, which aims to provide accessible healthcare to anyone seeking help. In her spare time, she enjoys working with languages and texts.
Gabi works for our Roma and Travellers Service, where she supports Romanian Roma families as a mediator. She loves poetry and has published a collection of poems in Romania.
