| 13 youngsters from Foyer des Jeunes and Jongerenwerking Foyer are taking up their next sporting challenge for a special solidarity project. In 10 days, they will travel from the south of Spain to the north of Morocco. They are not doing this just like that, but in the form of a triathlon while raising money for children and youngsters in Palestine. Like a traditional triathlon, they will complete 3 stages: 200 km of cycling, 50 km of walking and 3 km of swimming. You can make a donation to BE63 4370 0574 9108 (stating “Kilometres for Peace”). All the proceeds will go to Palestine! |

To fully prepare, the youngsters train on cycling, swimming and running throughout the year. Their camp in the spring break, for example, was an excellent moment for this!
START
This morning, the 13 youngsters who will complete a triathlon were at Foyer early to leave. They will fly to Malaga where they will start their first leg: 200 km of cycling.

STAGE 1 : CYCLING
Full of good spirits, the youngsters set off from Malaga towards Estepona. On the programme? A 107 km route
There was not much time to rest the legs, the next day they continued their journey and 97 km later they arrived in Algésiras!
With this, they completed the first stage: 204 km of cycling! The heat didn’t stop them because they keep their goal in mind.
STAGE 2: WALKING
The youngsters get a break on the boat to make the crossing from Spain to Morocco.
Then they start the next challenge. In one day, they walk 50km, arriving in Tétouan!
This is how they complete the second leg in their triathlon. They still have to push on to finish it completely. Good luck!
STAGE 3: SWIMMING
The sea of Al Hoceima was the setting for the final part of the triathlon: 3 km of swimming.
With this final effort, they completed their exceptional triathlon! The youngsters have proven themselves, now it’s up to us!
Their goal for this sporting challenge is to raise as much money as possible for Palestinian children. In total, they have covered a distance of just under 260 km. It is a unique project with a great cause so we hope everyone who can will do their bit.
