In 1964, Belgium signed an agreement with Morocco to recruit workers for its industries. What began as labour migration evolved, across generations, into an active and lasting presence in Belgian society.
Belgica Biladi tells this shared Belgian-Moroccan story through contributions from over twenty experts and personal testimonies — from tajine to fries.
On 12 February 2026 at 6 pm, the exhibition Belgica Biladi opens at the Migration Museum with a roundtable discussion moderated by Ahmed Medhoune. An evening paying tribute to the pioneers of Moroccan migration, featuring voices from the social, cultural, and media sectors.
